International Preachers Council of Churches (IPCC) visionary founder Reverend Dr. David Phiri has stressed the importance of churches being loyal to their country and said the maximum effort they can do is to pray for it and abide by the rules of the constitution.
He said this at a provincial leadership seminar held in Marondera, Mashonaland East, recently.
Reverend Phiri, who gave honors of excellence to the province’s leaders for hosting this prestigious event, spoke during his address on the importance of complimenting one another and the unity of Pentecostals and Apostolic churches.
“I am glad to be in this province and I am thankful to the provincial leaders who worked tirelessly to make this event happen. Leaders of various churches who attend this event, you are appreciated as well.
“Church leaders have mandated that we respect and take care of God’s work, and in the same spirit, we should respect the leadership of our country. Collaboration with the government is always welcomed, provided we respect the constitution of the country, as stated in Romans 13:1.
“Our message always remains the same; unity we preach it day and night, let us unite. Let us be loyal and prayerful to our nation. Respect also to the laws governing Zimbabwe should also be handled with care,” he said.
He ordained seven church leaders, who included six males and one female.
During the ordination ceremony, church leaders were encouraged to respect the anointing on their shoulders and to take care of God’s work.
Rev. Dr. Phiri also talked about the importance of respect in leadership, whether in the church or in a particular nation.
This message was in line with the body’s main objective of uniting denominations despite their differing beliefs, and promoting love and peace.
The event was attended by church leaders from Marondera and surrounding areas, including Hwedza, Mtoko, Goromonzi, Macheke, Murewa, Mutare, Harare, and Mvurwi.
It began in a powerful mode of prayer led by Prophetess Matsiya, Secretary for Disabled and Vulnerable Groups.
IPCC Mash East Provincial Coordinator Reverend Mirisawu organized and hosted the seminar.
In his welcoming remarks, Reverend Mirisawu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all member churches that contributed and participated in the success of the event.
National Coordinator Apostle Dambudzo unpacked brief information about International Preachers Council of Churches operations and encouraged provincial coordinators to work hard in bringing unity to churches.
The event was graced by the Mash East Angelic Melodies choir group, which gave special touching gospel songs.
Secretary General Apostle Mukoreka delivered a powerful sermon where he encouraged leaders to follow Christ and humble themselves.
He expressed the need to live for God through His Son Jesus Christ, who is the centerpiece of humanity to be saved.
IPCC Vice President Archbishop Scholastica Marimo Zhuwawu gave a vote of thanks to church leaders who showed a heart of commitment to the success of the event.
She also encouraged women in ministry to submit to their husbands and support the vision.
She expressed her gratitude to the President of IPCC and all executive members who are working tirelessly to bring about unity in the body of Christ.
More than 250 people came to witness this historical event. Bishop Manengureni, the Harare Provincial Coordinator, gave a closing prayer.
