Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi has been accused of unleashing terror to rival party members aligned to sitting MP for Zvimba West, Mercy Dinha as intra-party tensions continue within the ruling party.
Ziyambi who lost to the incumbent in the ruling party’s primary elections in 2023 is being accused of sending his foot soldiers to terrorise members perceived to be aligned to the Public Service Labour and Social Welfare deputy minister.
Two homes belonging to party leaders, Gloria Padzarondora (vice district chairlady) and Thomas Motsi were demolished in ward 1, Chiyangwa Village.
According to sources on the ground a group of unknown assailants demolished windows and doors before fled the scene in a white twin-cab vehicle.
A police report was made at Murombedzi growth point and police officers from Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Chinhoyi also attended the scene.
Efforts to get a comment from both Ziyambi and Dinha were unsuccessful as their mobile phones were not available.
However relations between Ziyambi and Dinha are sour since 2023 party’s primary elections after Ziyambi lost in both initial election and the rescheduled one.
Ziyambi is also being accused of sabotaging Dinha and plotting for her downfall.
“The Mash West godfather hates Mai Dinha and he’s currently working so hard to blackmail her, because he wants his son Mutsa Ziyambi or Ignatious Chombo to replace Dinha through a by-election in Zvimba West ”, a source said.
