Chivayo’s IMC Launches Digital Experience Centre in Harare

Flamboyant businessman Wicknel Chivayo’s IMC on Monday launched the Digital Experience Centre at its new head office marking a significant step in the company’s drive toward digital transformation.

The facility which houses a warehouse, workshop and a showroom will see consumers receiving the best service in one place.

Speaking at the launch, Information Communication Technology, Postal, and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera said the centre will play a crucial role in advancing country’s digital economy.

“The launch of IMC’s Digital Experience Centre stands as a testament to the transformative power of ICT infrastructure, a key pillar of President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030,” Mavetera said.

The IMC headquarters, will soon see the establishment of an innovation hub designed to nurture young talent by providing hands-on training in emerging technologies.

“The IMC Innovation Hub is a clear demonstration of Vision 2030’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering local innovation,” Mavetera added.

The initiative aligns with the government’s Education 5.0 strategy, which seeks to equip students and young professionals with practical, industry-relevant skills in technology and innovation.

“By equipping young people with practical experience in advanced technologies, this initiative directly supports the government’s Education 5.0 strategy,” Mavetera said

The launch of the IMC headquarters comes at a time the country is accelerating its digital transformation efforts, with a focus on expanding ICT infrastructure, improving internet accessibility, and creating opportunities for local innovators.

Industry experts and stakeholders present at the event hailed the move as a crucial step toward positioning the country as a leader in ICT innovation within the region.
