First Mutual Foundation, administered by Bantwana Zimbabwe, continues to make a transformative impact on the education sector, providing financial assistance to vulnerable children through the First Mutual Holdings Scholarship Fund.
Since its inception in 2014, the program has enabled students to pursue their academic dreams from primary school through to tertiary education, offering critical support including tuition, accommodation, examination fees, stationery, and uniforms.
The initiative has significantly improved school attendance, retention, and transition rates. Many beneficiaries have gone on to excel academically, with some earning top honors in highly competitive fields such as Actuarial Science, Data Science, and Computer Engineering.
The scholarship not only provides financial relief but also equips students with the skills and professional readiness needed to secure industry placements and internships.
For the 2025 academic year, fifteen new students from local state universities have been inducted into the program, including those from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Midlands State University (MSU), and Bindura University of Science Education. Among these students are five who have been supported by the scholarship since primary school, demonstrating the program’s long-term commitment to nurturing talent and ensuring continued academic success.
The First Mutual Holdings Limited Scholarship Foundation recently hosted a send-off ceremony for the 2025 tertiary scholarship recipients, celebrating their achievements and reinforcing the organization’s dedication to education.
