Delta Beverages has launched an investigation after an alarming discovery at its Southerton brewery, where unknown individuals allegedly attempted to gain illegal access through a pre-existing stormwater drainage tunnel.
The company has alerted law enforcement to assess the potential security threat and determine whether the tunnel was used to steal beverages from the premises.
Delta Beverages issued an official statement addressing the incident, confirming that an internal investigation is underway.
“Delta Beverages Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of lagers in Zimbabwe, is currently investigating an alleged attempt by unknown persons to illegally access its premises at Southerton brewery through a pre-existing stormwater drainage tunnel. The incident, which was discovered on February 17, 2025, by Delta Beverages employees, has not caused any disruption to our operations,” the company said
The company assured the public that it is working closely with law enforcement and relevant authorities to determine the veracity of the report and identify those responsible.
“We take the safety and security of our employees, facilities, and assets very seriously. We are cooperating fully with all responsible authorities involved in the investigation and are conducting our standard incident management and review processes,” Delta Beverages said.
As investigations continue, Delta Beverages is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and report it to the police or the company directly.
