In a shocking revelation, remnants of Zanu PF’s former faction, the Generation 40 (G40), are allegedly conspiring with rogue elements within both the ruling party and opposition groups to instigate a rift between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

This strategy appears aimed at destabilizing the current leadership in a bid for power, sources have disclosed.

Former G40 kingpins, including Saviour Kasukuwere and Walter Muzembi, are reportedly leveraging grievances within the party to galvanize disgruntled members against Mnangagwa.

According to insiders,“They do not want either Mnangagwa or Chiwenga; their sole aim is to see the current leadership removed from power. They are proactively sponsoring anti-Mnangagwa campaigns.”

Additionally, the sources highlighted that G40 operatives are exploiting sentiments against constitutional amendments related to presidential term limits, attempting to incite public unrest.

“They are exploiting those who are saying President must not extend his term, but as you know, there is nothing called unconstitutionality in changing the constitution. It’s so sad that even Kasukuwere wanted Mugabe to rule forever but he wants Mnangagwa to go after only two terms but Mugabe spends more than 7 terms.”

The sources further indicated that the G40 is actively pursuing a strategy to foster civil unrest across the nation.

“They have devised plans to disseminate anti-ED messages via social media, with numerous WhatsApp groups being established to mobilize support against Mnangagwa,” one insider revealed.

“They are proclaiming that this year belongs to Chiwenga, effectively pitting him against Mnangagwa. True supporters of Chiwenga should not be involved in such unconstitutional machinations; this strategy only serves to wrest control away from the elected President.”

Another source emphasized the dangerous implications of the G40’s tactics: “They are saying this year is Chiwenga’s year, igore ragudo. They are doing so to set up Chiwenga against Mnangagwa so that they can fight. Seriously, if you truly love Chiwenga, you can’t push him to take over power now from a constitutionally elected President. They want to wrest power from the President.”

Compounding the situation, allegations suggest that G40 elements are working to undermine Mnangagwa’s developmental projects.

Reports have surfaced indicating that these factions are involved in discrediting initiatives aimed at empowering citizens, particularly those led by Mnangagwa’s close allies.

“There are some empowerment projects being done by some Mnangagwa allies like what Dr Tungwarara is doing, he is empowing war veteran and those who are against Mnangagwa are trying to discredet these efforts.

“There are credible development projects in motion, but their goal is to undermine these efforts, further deepening the crisis and making Zimbabwe a hotbed of turmoil,” one source noted.

The breadth of the G40 coalition seems to include disgruntled Zanu PF members who had ambitions for cabinet appointments and top party positions, and external opposition elements looking to capitalize on the instability. According to insiders.

“We have seen a coalition forming that is motivated by personal gain rather than national interest. They can’t even wait for Mnangagwa to finish his term; their impatience speaks volumes about their intentions.”

Moreover, the situation is exacerbated by reports that some factions are circulating illicit funds to support their campaign against Mnangagwa.

“Those ministers who are against ED must just resign if they are genuine because they are part of the current Mnangagwa team,” warned another insider.

“The G40 wants to see dead bodies in the streets so that they can take over power. This reckless ambition can create irreversible damage to our nation.”

As political tensions rise and the situation develops, the implications of this exposed “evil” strategy pose significant threats not only for party unity within Zanu PF but also for the stability and future of Zimbabwe as a whole.

Public scrutiny and intervention may become increasingly necessary to address these alarming developments.
