Police in Bindura have arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly murdering his wife after reportedly finding her with another man.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the incident, which took place at a residence in Woodbrooke, Chiwaridzo.

According to the police, the suspect, identified as Justice Pondani, allegedly killed his wife, Grace Chareka, also 34, by repeatedly smashing her head against a wall.

“Police in Bindura arrested Justice Pondani (34) for a case of murder which occurred on February 12, 2025, at a house in Woodbrooke, Chiwaridzo,” the ZRP said in a statement.

The ZRP added “The suspect attacked his wife Grace Chareka (34) by pushing her head several times against the wall after allegedly finding her with a boyfriend. The victim died on the spot.”

In a separate case, a Bulawayo High Court has sentenced Tsoanelo Sibanda, 39, to 20 years in prison for the brutal murder of his wife, Letshani Ndlovu, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

Court documents revealed that the incident occurred on May 18, 2016, in Ntalale, Guyu, Matabeleland South.

The couple had engaged in a heated argument over allegations of infidelity, which quickly escalated into violence.

According to prosecutors, Sibanda chased Letshani and struck her twice with a stone—once on the head and once on the left ear—leaving her unconscious and bleeding.

She succumbed to her injuries before she could receive medical assistance, officials said.
