The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for war Veteran Blessed Geza Runesu, a vocal critic of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is facing multiple criminal charges, including theft, undermining the president’s authority, and inciting public violence.

Geza, also known as “Bombshell,” has in recent months openly called for Mnangagwa’s resignation, criticizing his leadership.

In a statement, police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that law enforcement is actively seeking Geza’s whereabouts for questioning.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is seeking information on the location and subsequent questioning of a suspect, Blessed Geza Runesu, alias Bombshell,” Nyathi said.

According to police, Geza is accused of theft under Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act (Chapter 9:23), specifically for allegedly stealing and disposing of three vehicles belonging to a complainant without consent.

Additionally, he faces two counts of violating Section 33(2)(a)(ii) of the same act, which criminalizes “Undermining the Authority of or Insulting the President.”

He is also charged under Section 187 for “Incitement to Commit Public Violence.”

Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the alleged offenses, but the charges could be linked to his recent criticism of President Mnangagwa.

Nyathi warned that anyone found aiding Geza would face legal consequences.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that anyone who is harboring the suspect or assisting him to evade police questioning will be equally liable for arrest and subsequent prosecution,” he said.
